MY TOP 10 PERSONAL FAVORITE PHOTOS TAKEN IN 2017
#10 - "Double Rainbow"
For years I have been trying to capture a double rainbow over Sunbury, PA. On September 7th, 2017 I finally got it. As me and Avery were starting to make dinner, I just happened to look outside and see this rainbow appear. We dropped what we were doing and raced across the river to the Northumberland Boat Club. We got lucky as this rainbow stuck around for about 10 minutes before it finally disappeared.
#9 - "Roslyn"
The bride takes one last look outdoors before her wedding ceremony on May 13th, 2017.
#8 - "Esther Furnace Covered Bridge”
Fresh snow covering Esther Furnace Covered Bridge on February 9th, 2017.
Esther Furnace Bridge spans the North Branch of Roaring Creek in Cleveland Township. It is on Esther Furnace Road, off Eisenhower Road, in the proximity of 3003, south of Catawissa Borough.
Built-in 1881 by C. W. Eves, this bridge cost $1,044.75. It is named after the Esther iron smelting furnace built in 1817.
#7 - "Garage Fire”

#6 - "Howdy”
A beautiful view of the sunset as our plane took off from Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport on June 23rd, 2017
#5 - "Lightning”
Intense lightning during a slow-moving thunderstorm near Watsontown, PA on August 2nd, 2017. We missed dozens of cloud to ground strikes as we raced towards Williamsport. After checking the radar we changed our route and set up just outside of Watsontown. For almost 40 minutes after setting up, we had a barrage of cloud to ground strikes around us.
#4 - "Fall Colors”
2017 was extremely disappointing in regards to fall colors around the state of Pennsylvania. A combination of warm weather and rainy days led to dull colors around the state. Luckily, we found these beautiful fall colors at Tiadaghton State Forest on October 19th, 2017.
#3 - "Bald Eagle State Forest”
High above Bald Eagle State Forest near Glen Iron, PA on March 10th, 2017.
It’s not often that I fly my drone out in the cold, but when I do, it’s always worthwhile. In my head I always picture finding locations like this for my drone shots. I remember this road vividly from when I lived near Laurelton, PA. This location has a perfect hairpin turn that stands out in the snow.
#2 - "Lake Jean”
This photo was taken 1 hour after sunset on Lake Jean at Ricketts Glen State Park on October 26th, 2017. I love doing photos like this. After the sun sets and it gets dark I do a long exposure photograph. Doing this I can capture the last remaining light from the sun on the clouds as it drops well below the horizon. I love seeing the colorful clouds mixed in with stars.
#1 - "In the shadows”
